Hotel Danza del Sol

We had a two-bedroom villa, and the stay was so bad that we moved out. In the first villa, the kitchen was badly short on equipment: no oven mitt, just two old pots without lids, and no bottle opener. There was no phone line either. When we asked the front desk for help, they questioned why we needed a phone and said there was no oven mitt, then gave us two used cleaning towels to use instead. After we gave them two days to fix things, they left dirty towels that weren't ours on the living room table. I lost my temper, and only then did the manager move us to another villa and offer one day's free breakfast at their sister hotel, Real de Chapala. The second villa had ants in every corner. We found them after eating a slice of pizza. The front door wouldn't lock, and faulty pipes meant there was no hot water in the shower. We complained and got no response. We went to the sister hotel to ask about moving there, and learned that breakfast at Real de Chapala is available to all Danza del sol guests, so the apology offer wasn't special. The manager offered to move us there, but only to a one-bed room for three people, with no kitchen, mini fridge, or coffee maker. We left, then spent another three hours trying to get a letter confirming our departure and refund request, after already losing 4 to 5 vacation days to the stay. The online photos and accommodation descriptions are fake, in our view. The outside is beautiful, but the villas inside are run down. Staff were rude and unhelpful, and seemed more interested in having an indoor party. Don't waste your time or money here.
