Don Carlos is the one person who was truly helpful. He cares about his work. I’m very disappointed because this is a beautiful place, but the hotel staff seemed too comfortable sitting around and talking as if they were at home instead of looking after guests. We were there for a funeral, not a luxury vacation. We had rented a three bed room and a separate one bed room. There were five of us in the three bedroom, and Elvira told my husband there was one towel per bed, with any extra costing 50 pesos each. When he asked for shampoo because there was none in the shower, Gloria got upset before giving it to him. I don’t understand why that would bother someone. The room listing says wifi and air-conditioning, but our room had no AC, and we could never watch Netflix. The shower, floors, and especially the toilet were dirty. I took video of the shower and toilet so they could see how bad it was. We even found socks under the bed, which makes me think they cut corners when sweeping. My daughter and I both have 7 feet long hair and use special rubber bands, but we found three tiny, thin black ones in the shower and bed, and I know they weren’t ours. When I explained the dirt to Jorge Herrera, he sided with the staff. We travel often enough to know one towel per bed isn’t right. We don’t share towels with our children because of hygiene. I asked whether my aunt and uncle, who had a room of their own, were expected to share one towel too. There was no shower mat, so we had to use a sweater to keep from slipping on the floor.

The rooms were okay and breakfast was okay, but there was no hot running water. I’m still waiting for the invoice I never received. It’s close to downtown, though this place isn’t for the average tourist.

If you’re not after a very luxurious place, this is a good hotel.

The location within the city is superb, and it’s a nice place with great service.

The new accommodation was really uncomfortable because it’s so light.
