We missed breakfast hours, so we had a few other dishes, rum and wine, with good company. The little patios and their tables felt private, almost like being at a friend's place. A lovely hidden gem, and the servers were so polite, speaking softly to fit the mood.

The rooms facing the Jalisco mountains cost extra, but those full-wall windows make it worthwhile. Koanze carries Asian touches all across the property, and some of the shared spaces in a few buildings feel like little museums. The bathrooms are roomy and the decor is striking. At 2300m/7500ft, the place is breathtaking in both senses. It really needs a couple of days to unwind here. You have to see it to believe it.

The food, views, and service were all great, and the serenity was outstanding. It sits in a quaint little town in jalisco, mx, yet feels like a world away within a world away. Everything you want and need to get away from it all.

Just what you need to escape the city noise.

First class all the way, especially for a small-town location. The bomb!
