There were cobwebs everywhere and the place felt dirty. The property also looked nothing like the website pictures, which seemed enhanced and edited. Nearby, a huge bee hive in a tree beside the driveway made things really uncomfortable. The worst part was that my room and bed were infested with fleas. I had to leave and book another hotel at the last minute, but Agave Azul refused to refund my money. When I told the concierge about the fleas, he was super rude and unfriendly, completely unmoved and unbothered. Save yourself a real-life nightmare and don't stay here.

The complimentary kayaks and paddle boards made our stay, and gave us a way to explore the lagoon. My family and I loved it at Agave Blue. The rooms were very nice, and the area around them was beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. We'd absolutely stay again.

The dock and gardens are so much fun, and the whole place feels relaxing. Agave Blue is a perfect spot to unplug or get some work done somewhere beautiful. They provide what you need, from towels, soap and shampoo to coffee and sugar. The internet is really good too. I love this place and definitely recommend it for a relaxing stay.

The setting is beautiful: lush tropical gardens, a large dock with hammocks for an afternoon nap, and a lovely private swimming area. There are kayaks for exploring and playing on the water. Early mornings bring spectacular sunrises and birdsong; at night, the sky is full of thousands of stars. Agave Blue is about 6 km, or a 10-minute drive, from Bacalar, which gives it privacy and quiet while keeping the area close enough to enjoy. I've stayed in all the guest suites, and you really can't go wrong with any of them. They're tastefully decorated, with well-stocked kitchens and cozy beds. Teresa is a gracious host who makes you feel welcome and gives helpful recommendations for Bacalar and nearby places to see and things to do. For a serene, peaceful stay, I highly recommend Agave Blue and would gladly return.
