The room and common-area attendant was spectacular, and the location has lovely lagoon and park views. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and the shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. But the rooftop area is quite neglected. There was mold all over the bathroom ceiling, and the smell filled the room. The bath towels were ragged, and the hostess made no effort to make us feel welcome. I wouldn’t call it a boutique hotel. I can accept those downsides for the location, but the nightly rate should be around $600 MXN rather than $1,400.

The rooftop was a nice place to relax, and you can refill your water there. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was comfortable too, and both the AC and fan worked perfectly. The location is great, right on the main square, though you may hear some street noise at night. A really good stay.

The receptionist was so welcoming and friendly, and the location is good. It was handy having access to a water filter. The room was clean and the bed was comfy, but ours smelled strongly of mold. The bathroom mirror was fitted too close to the sink tap, so they cut a slice out of the mirror frame. The tap moves up and down if you use a bit of force, but not side to side, which felt odd.

The location is central, but the service was mediocre and this was not a customer-friendly experience. Room 207 made a loud screeching sound every hour, and it kept going until I moved the shower handle. I couldn’t sleep. I showed them a video and sent it to their WhatsApp as well. I was unhappy to be given that room. I had plans to leave early, so switching rooms didn’t make sense. It would have been better if they’d put us in a normal room to begin with. They wouldn’t offer even a partial refund, just 15% off drinks, which felt like an attempt to get more money. There are plenty of better options nearby. I don’t recommend it.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and always around when we needed assistance. It’s a great location, just a short walk from most of Bacalar’s attractions. The room was a decent size, the bathroom was nice, and the air conditioning worked really well. I’d certainly stay again. Thanks!
