Coras Place Bacalar Lagoon Front

We had a confirmed reservation made directly with the property, with an email confirmation from them. They charged our deposit, and the balance was due at check-in. On arrival day I called several times and sent messages by WhatsApp and SMS to say we'd get there between 7-8pm. When we arrived, they'd double-booked us, rented our bungalow to other people, and cancelled our reservation. We were left in the dark on the street with a car full of young kids, bags of food melting, and nowhere to sleep. I called Jessica, the reservationist. She apologized and said they hadn't heard from us, despite all my calls and messages. She made no effort to help and only offered to refund the deposit. Horrifying. Be very, very careful here. They don't care about their guests.

We visited during a shore excursion. The place was clean, with all the amenities we needed, and the service, bar, and food were excellent. The tacos were delicious. I took off one star because our kayak leaked and the seats weren't adjusted properly.

Very nice, clean, and comfortable. We were the only guests there overnight. The road is rough, even by Mexico standards, but the bad stretch is very short and our rental car handled it fine.

Loved it. There isn't a beach, and the way into the water is by stairs. The bottom is rocky, so bring swim shoes. They do have inner tubes and kayaks.
