Hotel Casa Poblana

The peaceful garden made this feel like a lovely escape. My upstairs balcony looked out toward the lake, and there are public access spots nearby. The family running the Casa were lovely. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had plenty of supplies for cooking your own meals. There are good places to eat close by, while the central plaza is about a 15-minute walk away. 💗

I liked it so much I stayed longer than planned. The family hosting us were very nice, and the surroundings and facilities were pleasant. My room was sparkling clean, with daily cleaning available if you want it. The shared kitchen had lots of space and was well equipped. Upper floors have a nice lake view, and the free public swimming spot is not far away. Highly recommend!

The kitchen needed a proper cleaning, and we found the hosts unfriendly. They spoke no English and seemed to see guests as walking dollars rather than people. The hostel is about a 15-minute walk from the village, with nothing accessible nearby, not even the lake. The rooms are tiny and have no insulation or shade, so they got too hot during the day and were impossible to sleep in at night. The basic air conditioners were mounted right over the beds, blowing cold air directly onto you. If you're sensitive to heat or air conditioning, don't stay here. I picked this place because of the good reviews, but it was awful, the worst place of my months traveling across North and South America.

The rooms are on the small side, but they have good air conditioning and are cleaned every day. The shared kitchen is equipped for cooking, and all the staff were friendly. It's a cute little B&B, a bit of a walk from the main town but very close to the lagoon.
