I loved being in this part of Bacalar. Everything is walkable, and the lagoon is so close that I could easily go back for the dry bag I left there. The Barclar Beach Club and the SPOT are about a 12-minute walk away, and I spotted some restaurants on the way that looked even better. I’d like to try the Beach Club next time. My downstairs Deluxe Double had two beds, one softer full and one firmer twin, both with nice pillows. I slept well on either one. The owner clearly put care into the simple decor, especially the cozy, feminine touches. I felt at home as soon as I walked in. There’s both A/C and a fan, and on a few nights I didn’t need either. The warm lighting instead of harsh bluish LEDs made a real difference. There’s built-in shelving to keep clothes and luggage off the floor, plus hangers, which I appreciated. A small bedside lamp would be useful. The kitchen was clean, easy to use, and stocked with plenty of dishes, glasses, and equipment. I wish I’d used it more. There are two big outdoor dining tables, one by the kitchen and one on the upstairs Terrance, with room for whole families. Such a lovely place. I’m grateful I stayed here, and I’ll miss it. I’ll try to take better pictures before I leave, once I’ve packed up.
