The younger guy in the family was nice, but we left after one night and lost money booking somewhere else. It was worth it. The rooms looked nothing like the photos and were extremely dirty. The sheets and towels were very worn and needed replacing, even though they were at least clean. We also found a dirty cup left by a previous guest. The dog barked until 1 a.m., then the family had a loud breakfast at 7 in the morning. They showed no respect for guests. I honestly don’t understand the good reviews and would avoid this place at all costs.

The family made our time at Zayali wonderful, even arranging a lovely boat tour. The shared areas are beautiful, and the pool felt almost like we had it to ourselves. Breakfast was delicious when we asked for it, and the kitchen had everything we needed. They also sold us a great bottle of tequila for what two cocktails would have cost in town. The location worked perfectly, with town and the public dock both an easy walk away. We had such an amazing time and will miss this place.

The family was very friendly and some of the shared spaces were cozy, but the rooms were outdated and not clean. The swimming pool definitely wasn’t clean either. We were surprised and disappointed by the high ratings on Google and Booking.com, and still wouldn’t recommend it.

We spent a fantastic couple of nights at Zayali. The owners were friendly and very accommodating, and made the stay feel special. It’s more authentic than a typical hotel or hostel. The garden and pool are well kept, and the pool was great for cooling off. Breakfast is well worth ordering, and the laundry service is reasonably priced.
