Zelune Luxury Lagoon Resort Bacalar Adults only

The massage and food were both amazing, and the staff were friendly and keen to help with everything we needed. It’s a brand new hotel, with beautiful rooms and a lovely complex. We strongly recommend staying here!

We took a chance on this new hotel on the lagoon’s north side and were glad we did. The minimalist rooms are nicely decorated, everything is brand new, and the service is superb. Everyone was delightful, from the chef who shared his charred habanero salsa recipe, to the waiters who worked with me until they got my latte just right, to the general manager who was always available. The food was one of our favorite parts, and Tizmiche is worth visiting as a restaurant on its own. We also loved being able to take the beautiful kayaks from the pier for free, any time. It was our first trip to Bacalar, but we’d definitely stay here again.

The dinner was unforgettable: Chef George made us a five-course tasting menu with wine pairing, one of those meals you remember long after the trip. The staff were caring and attentive, making sure we had what we needed without hovering. Everything at the hotel was brand new and in perfect condition, and the peaceful rooms, gorgeous lagoon, and dock made the place feel like a dream. I booked at the last minute when there weren’t any reviews yet and wasn’t sure, but I’m so glad I took the chance. I’d recommend it to friends and family without hesitation, and it’ll be my regular place whenever I’m back in Bacalar.

We had to cancel our Mexico trip because of political uncertainty in February 2026. The hotel wasn’t obligated to offer a free cancellation, but they kindly did so anyway and were very understanding. When we’re able to visit Mexico, I’ll make it up to them by booking again.
