I’ve been coming for about five years, and the property is still beautiful. COVID was hard on the community, and hosting was a challenge then. It’s lovely to see Hacienda returning to its original cozy, comfortable oasis in the little village of Barra de Potosí. It’s a large home with two pools and plenty of corners to relax or nap. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with AC, hot water, Wi-Fi, and fresh towels and sheets. The town and beach are right outside the door, a contrast with the peaceful feel of Hacienda.

We’ve stayed at Hacienda La Rusa 12 times and love it. The employees are great and go out of their way to take care of everything. Sometimes things aren’t perfect, but if you let them know, they do their best to fix them. There’s plenty to do, including birdwatching tours, whale watching, and surfing. Beach restaurants are close by, and there are other restaurants in town at night. We’ll definitely be back!

The complimentary breakfast at Netos was wonderful, and we really enjoyed the community kitchen and chatting with the other guests. Alonzo was a fabulous host from the day we arrived to the day we left, and we’ll miss him. The hotel needs upkeep. The shower had no hot water, and water stood there because the drain was slow. Algae had built up in the pool, so we hesitated to get in, and the old linens could use replacing. We loved staying at La Rusa, but those things brought it down.

Each room has its own special touch, and you can watch the sunset from the roof. There are two gorgeous pools, table tennis, books, DVDs, extra towels, tea, coffee, and delicious breakfasts. The beds are huge and super soft. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, comfortable place, a real paradise. Couldn’t recommend it more.

The beach is right out the back door, and you can even see it from the rooftop. This small, quiet B&B is amazing, with sweet staff and owners who go above and beyond to make your stay what you want. And the breakfast is the best: homemade food, fresh-pressed juices, salsas, and a variety of dishes. The best B&B in the area.
