Udara Udara 2K

The pools were a highlight, especially the rooftop one. On a clear evening, the sunset and rooftop views were fantastic. The restaurant by the ground-level pool was pleasant enough for a quick, snacky lunch, though some servers were noticeably better than others. We visited in the second week of October, a few weeks before peak season. Shops were just getting ready for the busy months, and some owners said the streets and walkways would soon be shoulder to shoulder. It was a lovely time to come, with plenty of sun and fewer crowds. Our room looked inland toward the jungle. The distant view was nice, though construction was right in front. The beach was just beyond the ground-level pool. I've been to better ones, but this was fine: the water was cloudy and a little rough, and parts of the shore were rocky, though the sandy patches felt great. There was a foot shower by the pool deck and bean bags with umbrellas right along the beach.

The ocean and mountain-facing condos are both beautiful. Udara sits right on the beach in the lively Golden Zone of town.

Udara is a lovely resort. My one complaint is the man renting kayaks by the pool. He was extremely rude and possibly racist.

The sound of the ocean was incredible to fall asleep and wake up to. Our patio view from outside the room was stunning, too. The staff were so helpful, and made us great drinks throughout our stay.
