Lumina at Cardinal Cabo San Lucas

The location was fantastic, and at first the property seemed clean and well cared for. The staff we met were friendly, and it was great being able to walk to the marina, beaches, and shopping centres. We did enjoy our trip, but the problems affected our stay enough that we probably wouldn’t return. The Wi-Fi never worked. The host had said to get in touch if we needed anything, but didn’t address it, and the front desk didn’t know how to help. I had to buy an e-sim because my phone was the only one compatible. Our neighbours kindly let us use their Wi-Fi when my parents needed it on their phones. The suite itself was clean but short on basics: no extra toilet paper, no wash cloths, and just one hand towel with no spares. We had to make do with the last of the tissue boxes. My mum also woke up with bed bug bites each morning. Room #M404.

The roof garden is phenomenal, and there wasn’t a single thing I could complain about. The staff were kind, flexible, and super helpful. My room at Lumina was clean, modern, sleek, spacious, and quiet, with a great view. The location is close to the center. This was my best stay in Cabo, maybe anywhere, and I’ll choose Lumina again if I come back.

We had the best time at Lumina. Check-in was smooth, and the place felt like home. It was spacious, with the most comfortable beds, and there’s so much to do nearby. We loved it.

The rooftop was a highlight, with views, a hot tub, and plenty of space to hang out as a group. The pool isn’t heated, but the cool water felt refreshing in the summer heat. Some of the outdoor furniture, mostly the faded lounge chairs, could use an update, though the atmosphere up there is still great. The area felt safe, check-in was easy, and I liked having a smoothie bar, pharmacy, and vegan places within a five-minute walk. The room was modern, clean, and felt like my own apartment in the middle of town. The bedding was fresh, the room spotless, the AC was a lifesaver, and the shower had excellent water pressure. I also liked that the sink was separate from the toilet and shower, which is handy when sharing. There were a few little flaws: no end tables, a bathroom light that wasn’t fully secured, and paint touch-ups that looked rushed. The sleek overhead lighting isn’t ideal from bed, so bedside tables with lamps would help. The sturdy windows have a small gap that lets in street noise. It seems like a construction oversight and probably an easy insulation fix. I’d seen comments about loud guests, and that’s fair, people come to Cabo to have fun. During my stay everyone observed quiet hours, so it never disturbed me. Lumina is a good option if you want a stylish, spacious, affordable stay, with some minor imperfections and plenty going for it. I’d absolutely come back.
