The pools are nice, and there are lovely views in other parts of the resort, but our bachelorette stay was a letdown. We booked two Deluxe Junior Suites for eight people and were told on arrival that no ocean-view rooms were available in the section we'd chosen. We were pushed into paying $240 for an upgrade to a supposedly more private section. It turned out to be a major hassle. Our rooms faced construction and palm trees, not the view we paid for. Getting there meant constantly walking up and down steep hills, which was especially impractical in heels. Golf carts were unreliable. There seemed to be only two or three staff covering several areas, and carts often took 10-20 minutes or never came. Ubers can't pick up at the resort, so every ride meant another walk down the hill. Staff and concierge showed little care or hospitality. Even the oceanfront chairs were always marked as reserved, despite signs saying they couldn't be reserved. The place looks nice and is close to everything, but poor organization and service spoiled the experience. I wouldn't return.

We chose Playa Grande because it seemed affordable and had lots of good reviews, and we're really glad we did. It was our first trip to Cabo, so we weren't sure what to expect. The room had everything we needed, the resort was top tier, and the service was fantastic. All the restaurants on campus were great, and we ate at the steak house every night. For the price, it was hard to beat. I'd recommend it, especially for a first visit. My wife loved it so much she nearly wanted to buy the time share, but I reminded her those are never worth it. We'd love to go back this year, but recent messages from cartel say they will kill Americans vacationing in major Mexican cities, including Cabo. I don't feel comfortable gambling with our lives. The airport drive is a little long, and I can see how someone could stop anyone they wanted along the way. I wish the cartel would stop ruining things for their economy. Hopefully we'll be back soon.

We’ve always loved this resort, and enjoyed ourselves enough to add an extra day to our visit. The service, grounds, pools, and family activities were all excellent, and management handled the problems well in the end. Renovation work caused a sewer smell and occasional power outages early in our stay, which was frustrating. We were already in a very nice upgraded room. After we spoke with a supervisor, management followed up personally, heard us out, and offered solutions, including moving us for our final night. The odor had cleared, and moving for just one night seemed more trouble than it was worth, so we stayed put. They also made a fair adjustment to our meal plan, which we appreciated. Renovations can be disruptive, but we'd happily come back.

Just got back and already miss the place! It was so clean, the food was great, and I was really impressed. The staff were warm, professional, and incredibly sweet. A shout out to Andres by the bar, JORGE at brigantine, ubaldo at the front, areli the server, and David by the pool bar. There were so many wonderful people, I may have forgotten someone. Definitely coming back.
