Casa del Arquitecto

The rooms are clean, and the place feels unusually authentic for the area. Arturo has filled it with his art, much of it made from recycled materials, and he showed us around both the house and his work. We arrived very late without having eaten, and he offered us eggs and chicken from his own kitchen. Absolutely recommend it!

We stayed at Casa del Arquitecto on our first night in Cancun. The house in Alfredo v. Bonfil is a short ride from the airport, and the garden felt like a little jungle, with lots of plants and birds and even a family of capybaras. Our clean room exceeded expectations, and waking to the birds and spending time in the garden was lovely. Arturo showed us around his finished and ongoing projects. I was especially struck by the paintings he was working on, with animals tucked into the greenery along a journey. They seemed to fit the feel of the house and garden. He was kind and helpful throughout our short stay. He also arranged an airport ride at short notice for about a third of what taxis leaving the airport cost. Thanks for having us, we definitely recommend staying here.

Arturo's advice for traveling around Mexico was invaluable and helped us find some wonderful places away from the tourist trail. The place itself is cozy, with a setting that feels like unspoiled nature. We liked the reuse-focused style and its artistic touches.
