Check-in took about 15 minutes, and the staff were friendly at first. After that, the stay went downhill. Our group had two rooms, one for three people and one for two, but they were placed on opposite sides of the resort. In the first room, the door was already open and it clearly hadn't been cleaned. There was hair in the sink, a half-used toilet paper roll on the counter, open dresser drawers, the TV was on, the patio door was unlocked, and drinks from the minibar were tossed around the fridge. We reported it, but it took about two hours before the room was actually cleaned. The other room was also a problem. We had booked two double beds through Sunwing, but it had only one double bed for two grown men. Apparently, they can't promise two beds. The front desk said the resort was full and at first offered no solution. After about 20 minutes of arguing, they finally brought a cot. We asked to speak to a manager and were refused. They had promised to follow up about moving rooms, but never did. The men were moved only after their AC stopped working at 1am on the third night. Food was OK overall. The pizza place, open 12-6pm, was excellent, and Samuel, a waiter and bartender there, was fantastic and very friendly. The beachside restaurant had a good breakfast and decent dinners. The buffet was mediocre, often with 15-minute waits because there weren't enough servers. Amenities were limited. The swim-up bar closed around 5-6pm, the only other bar closed at 11pm, and there was no nightlife, which was surprising for an all-inclusive. You had to claim pool and beach chairs very early, around 6am, or none were left. We weren't given towel cards at check-in, so we assumed towels weren't provided. Omar, the food manager, was the highlight. From our first night, he went out of his way to help, even with a room problem that wasn't his responsibility. He checked on us daily, helped get us great seats for the Mayan dance show, and gave excellent Cancun recommendations. Staff like Omar and Samuel improved our experience, but the room problems, lack of front desk support, and limited amenities mean we wouldn't return or recommend the resort.

The room was simple but clean and had what we needed, and the hotel was near the amenities. The food was good, and most of the staff were lovely and helpful. The beach is nice, though the sargassum is a problem at this time of year. A few things could be better: the entertainment, the number of loungers, and the pool music, which was laid-back but repetitive. Some Mexican vibes would be nice. The internet wasn't great either. I got the feeling some staff prioritized Spanish-speaking guests over English-speaking ones, though that may have been a language barrier. Still, the good outweighed the downsides, and I'd definitely stay again.

The Wi-Fi kept cutting in and out, and one employee at the pizza station wouldn't let guests take pizza back to their rooms. They even threatened to call security, which seemed unnecessary. Those were the only real issues. The bartenders made each day fun, and Alexa the Butler was excellent, professional, and always ready to help. The staff were great overall, and we loved our stay at Flamingo Resort Cancun. We'd happily come back.

Our room, 503, had a fantastic view and was quiet, though the shower was awful. The temperature kept swinging from freezing to scalding. Our son and daughter-in-law had a rougher room, 250 on the ground floor: it was noisy, had a terrible view, and a large bathroom ceiling leak. That was fixed the same day, so they didn't have to move. The beach restaurant was wonderful, with outstanding views, and you don't need a reservation. The main buffet was nice, with the usual all-inclusive selection, and the food and drinks were good. Premium drinks included Malibu, Captain Morgans, and Smirnoff. Both pools were great. The hotel is pristine for the price, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It's also well located, around a half-hour walk from CocoBongo, with plenty of places to stop for a drink or a bite on the way. We were very happy with the value.

The food was good, the drinks have improved, and our room had an amazing view. The water filters in the hallways are a great touch. I was here about 2 and a half years ago, and things have gotten better since then. I had an amazing time with Samuel, Ricardo, Alberto, and the chef from the pizza place. It'd be nice to have music by the beach pool, even something relaxing like they play at the main pool, if that's allowed. I'll definitely come back. Thanks, guys.
