Hostel Mundo Joven Cancun

The breakfast was awesome for Mexico, with fresh fruit, yogurt, and cereal, and the rooms are in good condition. The kitchen was well staffed, but there was only one fridge for guests and it was completely full. A second fridge would help, and some way to label food would make it clear when old things can be removed. The air conditioning was too cold at night, and I needed my down sleeping bag to keep warm. Overall, it was a good experience. Unfortunately, the wifi only worked on the rooftop and at reception.

Really nice, happy staff and hot water. The hostel has private and mixed dorms, plus a nice rooftop area for eating. Breakfast is free, though the kitchen could be cleaner. It’s in downtown Cancun, close to the ADO buses, which is handy if you’re traveling onward from Cancun.

The location is great, close to restaurants, shops, and the bus station. The bus stop for the beach is just a one-minute walk away. There’s a lovely terrace with a jacuzzi and free breakfast, and you can stay up to seven days. The rooms are very simple, with beds that are okay but not especially large. The hostel staff speak English and are really kind and friendly.

The common areas are clean and in good shape, but the rooms sit around a central area, so it gets pretty noisy. Still, it’s a perfect budget place when traveling to DF, with an ideal location for getting around the city by public transport. Don’t use the Turibus, you won’t get anywhere.
