Daniel was a great host, very welcoming and helpful. The hostel is a former single-family home with a really nice Spanish-style interior. Bathrooms are shared.

It’s a lovely little house, with big rooms and a good atmosphere. The location is somewhat out of the way, though. I’d booked the room partly because I wanted to use the bath, but they made it into a big issue when I asked for a plug, saying it would waste water. Still, very good overall.

The hostel is close to a church and is pretty cool. You can check its reviews on bookings for more about the place. Finding it by private car or taxi may take a bit of help from you. Tell the driver it’s near Avenida Coba y Avenida Palenque and in the superblock where the hostel is. From Avenida Cobá, turn onto Calle Bacalar. From Avenida Palenque, take the street with an OXXO market on the corner, then continue to Calle Bacalar.
