The room was okay, but there was no walkway to get to it, and the common area didn't seem well maintained.

We booked one night through air bnb and didn't research much because the stay was so short. The area felt abandoned and strange. The hotel exterior was very worn and empty, and the pool was closed. For such a cheap place, the accommodation itself was otherwise fine, though we found a dead cockroach in the room, and the carbon monoxide alarm had no batteries. At 3 AM, a man came into our room. He left as soon as he saw us, and the door slammed while we were all yelling. As young women, we were terrified: he had a key to enter our locked private room, and we only managed a few hours of sleep. At checkout, the receptionist apologized and said there'd been a system error and they thought the room was empty. It was a relief to learn we hadn't been trafficked or robbed, but this could have been avoided. The receptionist should have called or emailed us to check, or at least knocked a few times before entering. We felt vulnerable and unsafe. We messaged the air bnb host right away, but he wasn't apologetic at all. As a man, he clearly couldn't understand where we were coming from.

Some of the staff were friendly, including a guy in the restaurant and a girl at the front desk, but another man was rude in person and in messages on the hotel Whatsapp. The food was terrible and way overpriced. I paid for late checkout, then the electricity in my room was shut off. The girl said it was happening in all rooms, but I could see lights on elsewhere, and guests told me they still had power. I've stayed here before and it was much better then. At best, this is a one-star hotel. I won't be back.

The room smelled of mould, had no amenities, and the pillows and towels were dirty. The pool was dirty and unusable, and the place looked nothing like the photos. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. While I was out, someone went through my things and took my card details, followed by multiple attempted charges. I noticed in time to report the card stolen. I checked out immediately because I felt unsafe. They promised to refund what I'd paid in advance for the rest of my stay, but instead double-booked the room and kept my money. Other reviews saying guests had been robbed showed up too late for me. They ruined my holiday. I had to keep chasing them about the refund, and they ignored me. It made me hate Cancun, and I'll never go back.
