Ocean View Cancun Arenas

The room was dirty and everything seemed old. Our sink and shower were clogged and smelled bad, and the shower head fell and hit my seven-year-old son while he was showering. The music played loudly late into the night, so the kids couldn't sleep. The buffet was poor, with little for children and food that was all spicy or hot. The facilities need improvement, including the public bathrooms, where things were broken. I locked myself in one because the handle broke, and tried calling for help, but nobody spoke English, even among the guests. The staff weren't friendly, didn't speak English, and weren't helpful at all. My family had a bad experience here. Think twice before staying.

The location wasn't very convenient for activities, which are at the far end of the hotel zone, so you'll need a bus. Luckily, buses are plentiful, come about every minute, and cost around 50p each. The main pool was awful, with loud, horrible music, while the other pool was quieter and much nicer. The food was disgusting. Nothing was hot except the yoghurt, which is meant to be cold. When we brought it up, we were told we could use the microwave. The rooms are spacious and could use updating, but housekeeping worked around the clock to keep them tidy. The staff were amazing, and the housekeeping team were warm and friendly.

There was no beach available for sunbathing, and the food was cold and bland. Drinks came from cans and were blended, never fresh. During a rainstorm, water poured from the dining room ceiling. The serving staff were professional, but seemed overworked and poorly paid. When I needed medication, one manager was discouraging. Pharmacy staff told me it could have been ordered and delivered to the hotel, but I went out in the rain with heart failure and took two buses to find it. By God's grace, I made it back safely. My vacation was badly ruined. I rate this hotel minus one. New management needs to make positive changes for tourists.

The hotel felt very dated, and the sheets in my room were dirty, with a hair on them. The food was bland and there wasn't much to choose from. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
