Real Inn Cancún

Our room was very spacious, and the hotel has a great view over the boulevard and lagoon. It’s near a bus stop, and they replenish the water bottles daily, which was handy for us. The Starbucks drinks were good, and there’s an ATM inside. The flush didn’t work properly, but we didn’t have any problems.

The pool was relaxing, the Wi-Fi worked well, and the common areas had nice water views. For the price, the hotel is fine, I guess you get what you pay for. But cleaning needs a lot of work. When I entered the room, there were long human hairs everywhere, in the bed, on the floor, and in the shower. It was disgusting. The towels were dirty too, if there were any. The gym equipment was broken, and breakfast wasn’t very good.

The public beach is a five-minute walk away, which was nice. This place works if you only need somewhere to sleep while spending most of your time out, but don’t expect much beyond that. It’s cheap, and the room lacked basic things. There was no hot water in the shower, and the AC was weird and loud. We were five people and asked for connecting rooms or at least rooms on the same floor. Instead, one was on the ground floor by the pool, damp and smelly, with a flush that didn’t work properly. The other was on the first floor and much better. Breakfast and service were just okay. Esperanza was the only friendly server I saw. Other staff didn’t properly welcome or say goodbye, and very few spoke English.

I’m writing to complain about a very disappointing stay. The room we were given on arrival smelled strongly of mold, making it uncomfortable and unhygienic. Reception offered no immediate fix. We had to insist and pay an extra charge to move to a room that was only acceptable. The food service was unsatisfactory too. The pizza was poor, and breakfast fell short of what I’d expect at a hotel for travelers. There were no croissants or apple juice, along with other basic items, which made the service feel cut-rate. Worst of all, at least twenty people who clearly weren’t hotel guests used the pool every morning wearing diving gear, including tanks. Nobody warned us this would happen. The noise, gas fumes, and lack of privacy early in the day completely ruined what should have been a relaxing time. I can’t recommend this place under these circumstances. I expect a prompt response and a commercial gesture that reflects the inconvenience we experienced. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely,
