A great place to get away from all the noise of the world, just an hour from Mazatlan. The starry nights are magical.

After a long drive, we got the peaceful rest we needed to recharge before getting back on the road. The view is absolutely stunning, and the host was so attentive and nice. Food delivery was great, and all the essentials were there. It's semi secluded but right off the road. We would've liked to stay longer. It's pet friendly; we didn't bring pets, but other visitors did and their pets seemed happy.

The staff were warm, wonderful, and very accommodating. The bungalows are chic and comfortable, and the other accommodations are beautiful and relaxing. There's a spacious beach for swimming and surfing, while the town has great food and authentic charm. This place feels magical, hard to put into words.

A quaint, eco-friendly place with comfortable rooms and a calm, peaceful feel. The sunsets are spectacular.

We rented all three villas at Tonina's for three nights, eight of us in all, including four kids aged 9-15. It was wonderful, and we're already figuring out when to go back. The owners made us feel welcome right away and were available for questions. There was cleaning service, plenty of towels, and nice toiletries. Esty, the sweet husky, joined us on beach walks, hung around the fire, and played tug of war with the kids. Her dog friend, who we called Loca, dropped by sometimes too. The villas were adorable, comfortable, and well equipped with wifi, t.v., air conditioning, a coffee maker, complimentary coffee and tea, and what we needed to make meals. We brought our own food, though there are nearby places to order from and a small store in the pueblito. The outdoor showers in the bathrooms were a neat touch. The beds and furniture were comfortable. There was an outdoor kitchen, bbq, plenty of seating and lounging spots, and hammocks in the common area. The pool was nice for cooling off after a long beach walk. We spent mornings looking out at the ocean and watching for dolphins. We saw them once! Then we'd walk the mostly empty beach. With the tide out mid morning, the kids spent hours looking for sea life and shells in the tide pools right in front of Tonina's. We'd take a quick dip in the ocean, then have lunch and relax. We brought games, music, and books. People fish from the beach if that's your thing. In the early evening we'd gather driftwood, which was plentiful, for a bonfire. Bring marshmallows if you're with kids, or get a bag at the little store. The sunsets were fabulous, and dinner outside around the big common table was so much fun. After dark we lit the fire, roasted marshmallows, and enjoyed the amazing stars. There's a turtle sanctuary nearby, but it was closed during our visit. We didn't get to see any turtles laying eggs this time, maybe next time!
