I'm sharing what happened to us because people expect a hotel to be clean and safe, somewhere to sleep and relax. This was a nasty, unprofessional experience, and I'm writing from my own visit. We paid 1,400 pesos for a room with double beds, but one first-floor room had bed bugs. The sheets and pillowcases clearly hadn't been changed: there was grime from someone's neck, dry saliva on one pillowcase, and dirt beneath the quilts. When we reported it, staff brought fresh linens but acted arrogant and sassy. The rooms smelled moldy, too, and they still refused a full refund. After we kept asking, they gave us only 500 pesos back, which wasn't fair for what we had paid. The pool looked milky and dirty, so we didn't feel comfortable swimming. I'd stayed here many times before and it used to be better, when women ran the hotel. I'm not saying men can't run a hotel, but this is really nasty and unprofessional. They have fewer rooms than Hotel Los Cocos and still can't keep them clean and safe. Please find another hotel and don't book a night at España. My experience was on 15 September 2024. I recommend Los Cocos or Villa Fontana.

The pool was great, and the location is right in the city center, about a five-minute walk from the Market area. Customer service was the best, and staff even suggested places to visit. Having a hair dryer was a nice bonus. The shampoo and soap they provide aren't good, so I'd bring your own. For the price and central location, it was worth it, and I'd recommend staying here. Thanks 😉

The photos made the place look decent, but the beds were covered in pubic and other hairs when we got there. We had four rooms, so we checked each one. Some beds had hairs all over them, and one seemed to have period blood as well. Awful hotel. They said they'd clean the room the next day, but when we came back, it was still the same. An employee even told us the owner was a retired nurse. Avoid this place if you can.
