There’s no coffee, tea, or kettle or coffee maker in the cabin. Restaurant service is slow and confusing, and the waiters don’t smile or repeat orders back to confirm them. The food is uneven: the rice was stale and a bit hard, the meat wasn’t tender, and the salad was sometimes fine and sometimes not. The service and kitchen staff could use training on serving guests and preparing orders from tickets.

I stayed here before joining my ship, UOG PHOENIX, at the pajaritos port, and would love to come back if I get the chance. The lake view by the restaurant is especially beautiful, and there’s a lovely view all around. Local people should visit more often.

The pool is nice, and the lake view is scenic. But the hotel seems better at promoting itself than looking after its facilities. The room windows were covered in moss, the bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke, and breakfast felt like a rip-off. They kept bringing watery coffee refills even when I didn’t want them. The so-called tennis courts were really a run-down playground for squirrels. If basic things like rooms and food are neglected, there’s no point selling guests a dream. It may be rated five stars here, but in other countries I’d give it three at best.

The desk staff and waiter were good, and some of the rooms are lovely. Others are too dark and poorly maintained. I was surprised and concerned when the dry cleaning staff came into the room to ask if we had clothes for them. Later, we noticed that one of our wallets was missing. We can’t say for sure that they took it.
