There are some useful touches: plenty of outlets for a laptop or phone charger, blinds that block the light completely, and Wi-Fi that’s a little choppy but usable. The street is a bus route, though, and the windows have no sound insulation, so it gets noisy, starting at 5am. Other things bothered me too: the switches are behind the doors in both the main room and bathroom, the bathroom ceiling is mossy, and the shower head sprays everywhere and leaks despite being patched with tape.

The staff are very kind, and the hotel is decent. Check the prices for AC rooms versus fan-ventilated rooms before you book.

The rooms aren’t very big, but they’re clean, well equipped, and don’t seem cluttered or neglected. It’s a friendly hotel, and I’d stay here again. Sound carries through the thin doors from the hallway and other rooms. Also, the hot water sometimes cuts out, even when only that door is open, then takes a while to come back by itself.
