The room was spacious, and the location worked well for us, with a shop across the road and a ten-minute walk to the bus and railway stations. Breakfast was included in the price and was a full meal, not just continental, and I liked it. The free WiFi worked fine. Staff understood some English and even helped us arrange an excursion with another vendor. I was pleased with the hotel and thought it was good for the price. I can't compare it with other places in the area, since this was the only hotel I stayed at while visiting Creel.

The hotel was nice and clean, and the staff were helpful. Breakfast had a good mix of hot and cold choices. My room had neither a heater nor AC, but that was fine for the time I was there. It's about a five-minute walk to central Creel, where there are a couple of restaurants and bars.

It may not look especially inviting from outside, but once you're in, there's a cozy, friendly atmosphere that feels almost like family. February in Creel can be uncomfortable, with possible freezing nights. There's an open fireplace in the lobby that burns in the evening, and the rooms have fairly efficient gas heaters mounted on the wall. They told us to let some fresh air in overnight if we wanted to survive the night. Breakfast is served in the kitchen, which is an experience in itself. You can order extra dishes, and the homemade “tortillas de harina” are worth trying. Creel has a lot to offer in nature and its original inhabitants. Caled recommends trips, and you should hire him as a guide; he's very pleasant. There's a so-called “restaurant” across from the hotel. It's tiny and doesn't look very appealing, but the hamburgers and T-bone steaks are excellent, and it has a distinctive vibe. For special beers, you can cross the road at your own risk and buy them at the wine and beer shop opposite. At Posada del Cobre, you'll feel like part of the family, especially if you speak a few words of Spanish and aren't expecting luxury.

The walk to the main street is short enough, though you do have to walk a bit. For the price, the basics were there: hot water, a gas heater in the room, an HD TV, and breakfast. The breakfast was good, and they’ll make eggs the way you like them. I did have a couple of issues: the hostess handed me a map but didn’t know where we were on it, and the bike they wanted to rent me had a flat tire. They also didn’t have the right adapter to inflate it.
