Hotel Boutique La Casa Azul

The garden was a nice place to sit and relax, and being in the city center was a plus. We liked the spacious rooms, lovely design, and genuinely relaxing atmosphere. The staff were wonderful, and the indoor parking was handy. A busy street runs by the hotel, so a room facing that way might be noisy, though the night was quiet enough for me. My main issue was the bathroom floor. The flower-shaped mosaic along the edges sticks up instead of being level, and stepping on it hurts. Please make it flush. The rest of the stay was good.

Everything else was excellent, but it broke our hearts to learn the jacuzzi and sauna were closed. The shower had no hot water either, and the pool was freezing. A few more degrees in the water would have made the stay much nicer.

This is a gorgeous, charming place with lots of character and a boutique feel throughout. The gardens and decor are beautiful, and there’s clearly real craftsmanship in the design. The amenities are great too, with a spa, restaurant, and two pools. The service was excellent. The only small downside was the parking garage. It has limited spaces and a tight entrance, mostly because the streets are narrow in this location. It’s not a big issue if you’re being dropped off or don’t have a large SUV or truck. I’ll definitely come back and am looking forward to my six-day stay.

Service was terrific, and breakfast in the dining room at the center courtyard was very nice. The rooms are extremely nice, with Spanish colonial architecture. It’s a pretty, romantic hacienda-style hotel.
