Hotel Juarez

The rooms are large and basic, with plenty of hot water. It's a little rundown, but comfortable and good value. The hotel is just outside El Centro, across from a Government building. A line forms outside that building from 6 am, so front rooms get some noise.

Traffic on the street was very loud, and my room smelled like sewer unless I opened the tiny window and cranked up the fan. In the morning there was no water. I told the desk, and they turned on a loud machine and said it would work. Ten minutes later, still nothing. They apologized, but I insisted on speaking to the boss. Only then did they let me shower in another room, after first telling me they were fully booked. The place was horrible.

It took three rooms to find one where the balcony door would lock and the TV worked. They never cleaned my room during my 5 days there. Save your pesos and don't stay here.

The rooms are big, and it's a comfortable place. The managers are very polite.
