It was okay.

The tour is a long walk, with steps at the entrance and plenty more walking before you reach the end, so you'll want to be in decent shape. The cave is spacious, very large, and dry. We went to Grutas Aventura on a rainy Sunday afternoon/evening in February, and the rain didn't keep us from going in and enjoying it. The ground gets slippery from water runoff, so hiking boots or shoes with good grip are a good idea. Helmets with flashlights are provided, and you'll need them to avoid bumping into rocks, especially in the narrower sections. There are restrooms. Our guide was very friendly and asked only for a voluntary donation at the end. I thought the cave was well worth seeing, so remember to leave the guide something.

There are three route stages to pick from based on your fitness. The tour lasts an hour and a half and cost $130-150. Wear light clothes with long sleeves, plus waterproof boots, which you can rent there if needed. The stairs on the return are somewhat steep, so just take them slowly. I definitely recommend doing this hike.

It was a great experience. You need to be in good shape, but getting in isn't too hard because there are stairs and Liz. It's inexpensive at $80, and they provide the gear and guide. Renting boots costs another $25.
