Hotel del Principado Durango

For me, this was a pretty good fit: comfortable, clean, and inexpensive, with attentive people and a solid value for the money. The location is close to ideal, right downtown, a block from the plaza de armas and from a whole street of local food spots. The rooms are only just big enough, so don’t pack tons of clothes, and don’t expect a large bathroom.

For what you pay, the rooms are excellent, very clean, and the hotel offers free parking, strong Wi-Fi, and a buffet breakfast. Calle Constitucion is just one block away. This isn’t a five-star hotel, so keep expectations sensible; breakfast is enough to get you through the morning. Some people complain about the exterior needing paint or the dated decor, but those things didn’t bother me. You can’t expect a five-star place for 600 pesos.

Good breakfast comes with the rate, and parking is free. The location is excellent, service is great, and the place is clean and cheap.

I was there for a makeup lesson and only saw the Victoria saloon. It was spacious enough for events, had good lighting, and the restrooms were clean.
