Cucu Hotel Boutique - El Cuyo

At the end of the road, Cucu feels like an oasis where all you hear is the waves. It’s a lovely place to slow down and get away from the beaten path, surrounded by a beautiful natural setting. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to make sure we felt cared for and had what we needed. There’s tremendous attention to detail, with tasteful decor, delicious breakfast, and divine coffee.

Cucu Hotel is right by the beach and kitesurf spot, which worked perfectly for us. It’s super clean, beautifully decorated, and the service is wonderful. They hire only local staff to support jobs in the area, which I think is essential in a place like El Cuyo. I’d definitely return.

For calm beauty and thoughtful details without any pretension, CuCu is the place to look for on this dreamy beach on the coast of Cuyo. It’s family-owned by veteran kitesurfers, and somehow manages to offer both quality and adventure. I’ll be back and would recommend it.

The beach is reached by a short walking path, and the hotel supplied chairs, towels, and umbrellas for us. Staff were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Breakfast was spectacular and included: we all chose avocado toast topped with a perfectly fried egg, with yogurt, fruit, and good coffee too. Rooms have a two-burner electric stove and a refrigerator, plus an Italian percolator and coffee if you want to make a cup yourself and enjoy it on the well-furnished deck overlooking the pool and Gulf. The hotel is beautiful, with large gorgeous rooms, immaculate grounds, stunning decor, crisp sheets, and very comfortable mattresses. Highly recommend. I can’t wait to return.
