Hotel El Sausalito

Our trailer was broken into and more than $4,000 worth of tools, a large toolbox, and other things were stolen. We arrived late, and the front desk worker, Jose, told us to park it by their camera. In the morning, it was clear the trailer had been broken into, and the camera wasn’t there at all. When we reported it, the front desk wouldn’t help us contact the police. We asked for the hotel owner and were told she’d arrive at 10 am. It was 7 am, and Jose only texted us. At 10, the person taking over the front desk said she wasn’t the owner, wouldn’t contact the owner, and wouldn’t give us Jose’s full name. They still wouldn’t help us file a police report. It’s strange that so much was stolen without the front desk hearing or seeing anything. Maybe Jose, the night worker, called friends to rob the trailer, or maybe he wasn’t doing his job watching the hotel. In the three hours we waited, we didn’t see a police car pass or get an answer on the phone.

Don’t do it. I paid $75 because the photos made the place look so nice, but it wasn’t. It’s way overpriced, in the middle of what I can only describe as a ghetto, and the rooms were cold because there was no heat.

My family and I have stayed at a few hotels, and this has been our worst experience so far. The place is literally falling apart and badly needs remodeling. Our TV and remote didn’t work, the mattresses were old and hard as rocks, and the pool was poorly maintained with no lighting. There was no WiFi either. I could go on listing what’s wrong, but for what we paid, it was definitely not worth it.

The rooms weren’t properly cleaned. The beds were full of hair, and rooms 26, 27, and 28 were infested with roaches. They also didn’t want to refund my money. I don’t recommend this place, and there are plenty of other things wrong with the facility.
