OYO Hotel CocoBeach, Ensenada

Zero stars from me. I booked through an app, but when I arrived they wanted to charge me another 1700 pesos in cash. The staff were rude and wouldn't give me my money or my room. I called the police, and then they gave me a room. The rooms are bad, with really dirty carpet and very old curtains, yet they still wanted to charge extra. I only stayed because I didn't want to lose my money.

The staff were friendly, though the neighbors were loud. The building has two floors and what looked like 26-30 rooms, with key access to open the doors. Parking was tight for our 15-seat van. Our room had two beds, one of them a twin; another room had two beds and a sofa, and some rooms had balconies. There were bees near the roof above the parking lot, but nobody was stung. My parents said the tap water tasted salty. My mother also said a man was selling hats around 3am, so I doubt she slept that night.

I gave them five stars for how kind and cool the family running the place was. I left my jacket and scarf there while I was sick and out of it, called them, and they kept everything safe until I came back a week later. She graciously refused a cash reward and accepted a little candy instead. This isn't a five-star hotel, and you don't come here expecting to pay the least and get the most. Nearby, menudo michoacan has the best breakfast ever. Wow, I love baja.

I booked a two-bed room for me and my kids, but when we arrived they put us in a room with just one bed. They had given my room to someone else, leaving one bed for a family of four.
