The owners were great and easy to reach. Our room was very clean, and the view from its deck was gorgeous. We had a peaceful trip and felt very safe. We’ll definitely stay at this property again next time we’re out there.

The room itself had a good bed and a nice shower, and the little outdoor breakfast kitchen cooked over wood served really good food. But this place didn’t feel like a three-star hotel to me. We had to kill spiders in our room two days in a row, and the room security wasn’t great. It’s down a dusty dirt road, though the setting is peaceful. In the end, I think it’s simply overpriced. Sorry, but I can’t call it a nice hotel.

We only had one night at Santerra because we were in the area for a friend’s birthday and had activities planned, so I wish we’d had more time to enjoy the peaceful grounds. The staff were incredibly kind, and the place has a sweet, quaint feel. Breakfast was included and cooked outside in the bar area. There’s also a very well-behaved dog who my boyfriend fell in love with. My one suggestion is to put a sign out front saying Santerra. There are plenty of signs along the way, but nothing at the entrance. I’d love to come back and properly enjoy the quiet here.

The peaceful atmosphere was perfect for a few glasses of wine, and the view from our patio was gorgeous. Our room was clean and full of natural light, and check-in was quick. Jorge was friendly, outgoing, and professional. I also really liked that Santerra is pet friendly, so I’ll be back with my dogs and friends. The drive in was fine, and I enjoyed getting off the grid on the dirt road. Miklo and Zacornia greeted me when I arrived. They were adorable and very well behaved, and my favorite part of the stay. If you like red blends, I’d recommend trying a bottle of their signature wine.

The beds were really comfortable, and breakfast was amazing, with coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, chilaquiles, or delicious French toast. It’s a small vineyard with a tasteful setup for staying, and there’s a lovely view out back with seating to enjoy it.
