Hotel Peninsula Frontera

We've stayed here twice with our kids, and it's been very comfortable. Despite how it looks, it's family friendly. The service is good, the Wi-Fi is fast, and there's a mini-fridge in the room.

There are only 10 units, and the place is quiet, secure, and convenient. You enter through a gate, and each room has its own enclosed garage underneath. The room was clean and very nice, with a refrigerator but no microwave. There's no ice machine, though there's a store next door and a gas station. There's also an on-site restaurant open in the morning and during the day.

The restaurant wasn't appealing at all. We went to look and found a stuffy little room with a few tables, tortillas everywhere, and a lot of dirt. Staff were friendly and cheerful, but their service hallway echoed, and they could get very loud. Ask for a village-side room, ideally 1-8, since the gas station side may be noisy. The hotel sits behind a Pemex gasstation at the edge of town, so expect a lot of walking if you want to eat in town. Our room was comfortable and well kept, with a hot shower, nice pillows, good privacy, and a lockable door at night. The parking was superb, and the Wi-Fi was reasonably good. All in all, a good stay in a nice, clean room.

The staff we spoke with were super friendly, and our Jeep and trailer both fit in the huge private garage below the room. The room was large, very clean, and had huge windows and a big shower. Breakfast can be ordered ahead for a set time, then delivered through a pass-through cabinet. The layout seems designed for a no-contact stay, perhaps before COVID. More highway-side hotels should do this. I'd absolutely stay again and wish there were more places like it.
