I ended up finding somewhere else to stay because the problems kept getting worse day after day and nobody fixed anything. From the start, service at Baruk Guadalajara Hotel was terrible. Whenever I asked the front desk for something, they immediately said “NO” without checking or trying to help. The bald manager or supervisor with the heavy eyebrows was especially rude and unhelpful. I can’t recommend this place if you want ordinary, friendly service. One out of five stars. Avoid it.

The suite had amazing views. Check-in was held up by a cash-only deposit of 3000 instead of a credit card hold. It was inconvenient: there was no ATM on-site, so we had to walk about a block to a nearby one and withdraw the money.

The food was good and the bellhop was friendly, but I can’t recommend this hotel if you’re booking for its amenities. You may not be able to use what you paid for. The “pool” is more like a small hot tub and doesn’t look like the photos. The elevator shakes, our room keys failed multiple times, and the AC in our final room was so loud it made sleeping difficult. We booked a premium room to celebrate our anniversary, specifically for the bathtub and jets. When we switched on the jets, a lot of black gunk came out. We flushed the system three times, but it kept happening. We were moved through three rooms, and every tub had the same hygiene problem, with what seemed to be mold or biofilm buildup. By the time we finished moving for the third time, it was nearly 11 pm, dinner was missed, and the hotel restaurant was closed. We spent the evening hauling luggage instead of relaxing. Management, Ricardo S., was unhelpful, and they refused to refund the price difference even though the amenity couldn’t be used. Later, I was contacted and asked to remove my feedback in exchange for “help.” I found that unprofessional.

The view was nice, but it didn't make up for the problems. We reported obvious cleanliness issues in the room and they were left unresolved. Coming back at night to find the door open was unsettling. Conversations from next door came through clearly despite the hotel's soundproofing claim, and the motion-controlled air conditioning shut off overnight, leaving the room uncomfortably hot. A steady light from the room phone couldn't be switched off either. It took a while to get a resolution. We were moved to a suite, but the bedroom had no windows. Given all that, the $2,000 MXN damage deposit felt unreasonable. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it.
