Casa 8

We arrived on Friday for a two-week reservation, but the security guard couldn’t confirm it with the office, and his shift ended before anyone responded. We had to pay for another hotel that night. Calls to the office on Saturday and Sunday went unanswered too. CheapOair finally reached them on Monday and told us to allow 72 hours for a refund from casa 8. We heard nothing until the following Monday, when an email arrived with the code for the place and room. Casa 8 is a joke, and I wouldn’t recommend it. Businesses like this shouldn’t be listed on any platform. I’m still waiting for my refund.

We booked three nights through expedia, but the neighborhood felt very sketchy when we arrived late. The suite opened onto a shared terrace near the main entrance, and its door wouldn’t lock. The phone numbers we were given weren’t active, despite being listed as available until midnight, so we had to block the door with a table and chairs and wait until around 1 pm the next day for a response. By then, we’d already booked somewhere else. The WiFi also never worked, and the room was very dusty. If you’re a foreigner, don’t choose this place just because it’s cheap.

I’ve tried several of their places around the city and was surprised by how much I liked them for the price. The smaller room I stayed in was just right for one person. The part that really caught my eye was the bathroom, with its light blue and navy blue colors. It looked gorgeous in both the warm light and the natural daylight.

The bathroom was clean, and Room #14 looked generally good, so the place seems to have potential. But I found several problems when I checked more closely. The sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels were damp, and there was dust and lint on the floor. The coffee maker still had old grounds in it, and there was a cockroach in a pan. I cleaned and dried the things I needed myself to make the stay comfortable. Communication with the "owner" was a bit unclear too. The cleaning and maintenance need more attention before guests arrive.
