I was surprised I lasted the full 7 days. This was the worst apartment I've stayed in during nearly a year of solo travel through other underdeveloped countries, and Mexico apartments I've used before weren't like this. The studio, unit 4, had absolutely no ventilation. There are no windows anywhere in the unit, and you can't leave the glass doors open because flies and mosquitoes come in quickly. Large trash containers sit just a couple of feet from the doors in the hallway. The air never moved through the humid apartment, it smelled bad, and with the blinds closed it felt like a dark pit. Open them and everyone can look in, so there was no privacy. The comforter and sheets smelled of mildew, and someone else's food was in the refrigerator. I asked for extra towels, but they arrived slightly wet and musty too. The queen apartments look pretty much the same.

We had a good stay and would recommend this place to people who handle heat well. The manager was very accessible and let us switch rooms at no extra cost, even though the new room cost more. We'd originally been put on the second floor at the back, where it was extremely hot with no ventilation and only a tiny window. Our replacement room was on the fourth floor, with no elevator, and had a beautiful view over the “Centro”. It was modern, with a mini fridge, microwave, stove, and a small balcony with a sliding door that let in plenty of air. The top floor helped with the heat, and a small fan was useful too. There's no air conditioning. The microwave didn't work, though the manager said he'd send someone to fix it. The room had no hygiene products, and towels were provided only once during the stay unless you pay extra for daily delivery.

Everything I wanted to see was just a few steps away, the location is hard to beat. The loft was comfortable and had the amenities I needed. If you like cooking, it has all the essentials. I'd definitely return.
