Hotel y Club Villa de la Plata

It's beautiful here, with the mountains and the city, and I like rustic places, so the setting worked for me. But the place is run down, the pool was green, and there was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, only the lobby. The gym was a joke. The restaurant was open for breakfast, but there was no bar. This is false advertising and obviously not a 4-star place. A 2-star motel is about right.

The grounds are impeccable, the parking is safe and convenient, and the staff are helpful and polite. The clean hacienda setting is appealing, but the hotel has seen better days and needs some fine tuning. In the room, several things were frustrating: burned-out bulbs, very poor water pressure and too little water, old torn curtains, spotty Wi-Fi, and noise. Without those issues, it would be a great place to stay while visiting beautiful Guanajuato. A diligent manager could fix them.

This was the worst resort I've stayed at. It was dirty, with cockroaches in the room, kitchen, and bedrooms. The furniture was very old and worn, and there was no ventilation because the windows were sealed. Internet only worked in certain areas of the hotel, not in the room. The restaurant was open only on weekends. I would never recommend this place.

I've never stayed in a worse hotel. The service was terrible, there was no hot water, and the toilet was out of order and wouldn't flush.
