Desert Inn Guerrero Negro

Good location and a quirky hotel, but the rooms were filthy and full of insects. We had to change rooms because the sheets in the first one weren't clean. Now we're really worried, but we're exhausted, so we're making do. We won't stay here again.

The location is a few kilometers north of town, and it was good value for the price, in my opinion. We visited during the hot off-season, and there were only two couples at the whole hotel. The room was okay, nothing special, but it was clean and had AC. There was a restaurant and bar on the grounds, and the shower had nice pressure. There was no Wi-Fi the night we stayed, though I'm not sure if that's usual. We had a new big-screen LED TV, but only one movie channel was in English, so you'd need to know Spanish for the others.

Dog friendly, and I'd happily stay here again or recommend it to anyone traveling north or south. The Halfway Inn is easily the best hotel on the highway down the Baja. Our room was perfect and incredibly clean, and the restaurant was phenomenal, with lovely servers and amazing food. The chocolate cake is to die for. 10/10!

A very good place to stop overnight on the way south. We parked in front of the stairs and left the car there for safety. Check-in was easy since we'd prepaid, just a card to sign. The door opens with an electronic tag and locks automatically; from inside, you can also lock it by pulling the handle up. The room was very clean and had everything we needed for the night: AC, a mini-fridge, a small sofa, and a TV in a standard double. The location felt very safe, with a military/National Guard base next door. Staff were friendly, and there's a restaurant and bar in the lobby. We arrived at 2:30pm, were allowed to check in, and were told the restaurant would open at 3. I ordered shrimp for dinner, which missed the mark for me. The rice and vegetables were too soggy with butter and oil. Maybe that's on me for not asking how it would be prepared. My husband had steak and enjoyed it, and his vegetables were cooked well. The server was also the bartender, friendly and working hard as the only staff member there while we visited. They have a full bar and a good selection of Mexican beer. We'll have breakfast here before leaving in the morning.
