Hampton Inn by Hilton Hermosillo

Louis was a real blessing to us. He was kind, worked hard, and paid close attention to what we needed. We came from the United States, and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Our stay was great and exceeded our expectations. I’d recommend it.

The staff were kind, which is what you’d expect from Hilton, but the hotel itself didn’t meet the minimum standard I associate with the chain. There were three of us, my wife, our 25-year-old son, and me, so we paid a lot for a suite-style room with a separate sofa bed for our son, who weighs 190 lbs. The sofa bed was completely broken. We took off the mattress so he could sleep on it for one night, but the mattress was destroyed too. The towels had holes in them, and when we asked for replacements, the new ones also had holes. Food was another disappointment: a basic ham-and-cheese sandwich with tiny slices of ham and cheese cost $8. It’s surprising that Hilton backs a hotel in this condition.

The rooms were musty, old-looking, and felt like trash. Hampton Inn was a complete disappointment and wasn’t worth the price. Breakfast was mediocre and very basic, and the customer service was awful from check-in onward. The front desk staff were chatting while I waited for a room I’d already reserved. The woman told me to sit and wait, then I had to remind her she’d forgotten about me. It was an unorganized disaster. Whenever I’m back in Hermosillo, I’d highly recommend staying at LUCERNA hotel instead. The property is extremely clean, professional, and classy, with outstanding customer service. The difference is night and day.

We’ve stayed here three times, and each visit has been great. The staff are warm and bubbly, the breakfast is always delicious, and the pool is clear and sparkling. Rooms are clean, nicely decorated, and excellent. It feels like a home away from home. I absolutely recommend it for a stay in Hermosillo.
