I saw this firsthand, and it left me concerned about how locals are treated. In Mexico, beaches can't be blocked off, yet these people have restricted access. The way up is steep and creates risks for many. The owners, staff, and guests act as if the beach belongs to them. The other day, I watched them let a mother in, then try to have her climb that steep access with her five-year-old. I can't speak to whether the service is excellent, but I do know what I witnessed, and staying here means contributing to the mistreatment of locals.

The place is quiet and private, with beautiful views from the balconies and a lovely beach, pool, and lounge areas. The apartments are large, bright, and spotless, with huge en-suite bathrooms and kitchens stocked with everything. The service was excellent, too. They cleaned daily, called each day to check what we needed, and there's a restaurant nearby. I have absolutely no complaints.

The beach was beautiful and the food was great. We bought a day pass for the facilities, and one fifth of the price counted as restaurant credit.

If you can get a day pass, it's a lovely quiet beach where you can relax, eat, and enjoy yourself. Rooms are also available to rent. I especially liked the Baja shrimp tacos.

The people made the weekend for us. Abigail at reception, Sonia with beach service, and Mari in the kitchen were all wonderful. We loved taking the kayaks out and swimming at our favorite beach in the area. The suites were set up beautifully, and Huatulco is a gorgeous spot. Muchas Gracias for a great stay, we'd highly recommend it.
