Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Irapuato

There was a strong, invasive chemical smell everywhere, maybe naphthalene or something else. I paid almost 200 bucks, which was ridiculous, and I won’t come back. The air conditioning didn’t work in most rooms. They moved me three times, but I still ended up sleeping without it. The rooms were hot, so I didn’t sleep well. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!

It’s clean, quiet, and has very nice staff. It worked well for a business trip. Breakfast is the big issue: it was about 15 minutes late, not just a few minutes, and they’d run out of coffee. If management could get the schedule sorted out, this would be a 5 star hotel. Great place otherwise.

I didn’t stay here, but I trust City Express because its hotels across Mexico are usually a safe bet for a clean, decent place. Think of it as the McDonald’s of hotels. The rooms are small, but enough if you’re just sleeping there. There are convenience stores and a subway sandwich restaurant nearby. Don’t expect too much, it is what it is.

The rooms are clean, and breakfast service is excellent. The staff are really kind and helpful, and the service was very good.
