Ana y Jose Hotel & Beach Club Holbox

We had a fantastic four-night stay at Ana y Jose. Housekeeping cleaned our spacious room daily, and both the breakfast and beach cocktails were delicious. Service was excellent the whole time, with a genuinely friendly staff. I don’t understand the negative reviews from the past few days, because we were treated extremely well and truly enjoyed our stay.

That sunset from the beach was the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen, and the beach DJ added a lovely atmosphere. The setting is gorgeous and peaceful, just right for a relaxing break. This was our final stop on a trip around Mexico, and a lovely place to rest before heading home. Restaurants are just a short walk away, and the beachfront loungers made it easy to unwind. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, with welcoming staff throughout our three-night stay. Breakfast had a great selection too. We had a wonderful time.

The beach bar was a real bright spot: its staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. The beach itself is beautiful, and the hotel looks appealing, but our stay fell well short of what we expected for the price. Getting a sun lounger by the sea was nearly impossible. Guests claimed them early and left them unused for hours, while the loungers still available were often wet and dirty. At breakfast, we waited a long time to be seated, several menu items were missing, and some dishes didn’t match their descriptions. We also had problems with basic service from the start. Our room wasn’t ready until more than an hour after check-in time, and nobody told us about the delay or offered an explanation or apology. The towel situation was just as bad: the towels in our room on the first day were visibly used and dirty, and there were none at all on the second day. For what the hotel charges, this level of organization, hygiene, and guest service isn’t acceptable. The food offerings felt misleading, and basic amenities and guest management were lacking. The beach and the excellent bar staff couldn’t make up for those problems.
