The kitchen setup included a full-size refrigerator, hot plate, microwave, a few plates and utensils, two coffee mugs, and a pan. There was a coffee maker in the room, but no filters or coffee. A drinking water dispenser was available, though it wasn’t plugged in, so the water was room temperature, which didn’t bother us. We were high enough up that fumes from the El Sol golf cart rental business on the main level weren’t an issue; guests on the floor above it might notice them. There was a breakfast area with a toaster and large coffee maker, but nothing was set out or supplied. No coffee, toast, fruit, or breakfast at all, even though some listings say otherwise. We saw other guests looking for something in the morning. It seems like a little fruit or pastries and a pot of coffee would make the place more comfortable. We paid about the same for a top-floor suite with a terrace as for a regular room, but getting there meant climbing 57 steps. There’s no elevator. The room safe couldn’t be used because its key was missing. We asked to move to the other suite across the hall, but its safe had no key either. We couldn’t tell whether that was really the situation or they just didn’t want us to switch. The card machine wasn’t working when we arrived late and tired, so the woman said we could pay the next day. Then the machine had a limit below the cost of our stay, so she said she’d have to run the card twice. She wanted to split the amount in half, but we were uncomfortable with two identical charges possibly being flagged as fraud. After we said no, the other machine was apparently working again and she could charge the full amount normally. The payment handling felt strange. Staff at the entrance desk were polite when we greeted them, but often didn’t look up or acknowledge us coming and going. It felt like they might be filling in for someone, and once we checked in, we were largely on our own. Often there was nobody at the desk. Neither employee spoke English very fluently, so there were some communication difficulties, though we each knew enough to get by. The location is convenient, but local live music was audible. Most nights it stopped at 11 pm, later on the weekend. The building was in good shape, and the place was clean and comfortable. We had hot water the first day, then only lukewarm at best, and on our last day it was completely cold. Overall, an average stay with a lot of unrealized potential. It wouldn’t take much to make guests more comfortable, but the guest experience didn’t seem to be a priority.

The location worked well for us, with the beach and restaurants within walking distance. Our room was big and okay, and it had a large fridge, though no hairdryer. Breakfast was meant to be continental, but it amounted to cold coffee and no cookies. They said it would be coffee and a cookie, so don’t count on getting breakfast here.

Even though it’s right in the city center, it was quiet at night. The room had lots of space for two girls and our four suitcases. Everything was very clean, and the beds were super comfortable.

My room was clean and well appointed, but I won’t stay here again. I brought friends up while we were stopping between dinner and drinks, and the front desk kept bird-dogging us. I’m an adult and expect to be treated that way. If that kind of watching doesn’t bother you, maybe this place will suit you. Savvy shoppers can find better locations for less.

The hotel is in a good location, and I liked the room after we were upgraded to a suite. It was a nice room, though my friend and I had to share a king bed instead of getting two beds. Toast, fruit, and coffee were offered at 8 am, but you need to get there early before it’s gone. The golf cart rental below started making exhaust smells around 9 am, so we couldn’t enjoy the deck. Still, it was a nice hotel overall.
