Privilege Aluxes Isla Mujeres Adults Only

The location was excellent, but at the significant price we paid, the rest of the stay fell far short of our expectations. Our room had no hot water, weak water pressure even in the balcony hot tub, and a toilet that kept leaking into the bowl. There was dust on surfaces, debris in the tub, mold on the walls, worn towels with red stains, and very few towels to start with. The toilet paper was extremely thin, pillows had no proper covers, and the curtains had holes and stains. Rust on the towel racks and worn, frayed bathroom product packaging also gave the impression that upkeep and attention to detail were lacking. The products looked like old and new items had been mixed together. Service was uneven. Some staff seemed reluctant to help, and when we asked them to repeat something because of language differences, they showed visible frustration. At North Beach Club, we often had to flag someone down for service. Even then, drinks ordered through staff sometimes looked different from ones ordered at the bar. Dining was another low point. At Sabor, both the food and service disappointed us, and one dish had a visible hair in it. The explanation we were given wasn’t convincing, so we decided against trying the other restaurants on the property. Even with the great location, the quality, service, and value didn’t meet the mark. For what we paid, the overall experience felt closer to 2.5 out of 5.

The food was only okay for an all-inclusive, so with so many good restaurants nearby, I’d suggest eating out, especially if you don’t drink tea. Still, we had a great stay. The pools and beach club were lovely, and the location puts you right between Playa Centro, Playa Norte, and the shops in centro. Michel was helpful with booking our whale shark tour, and all the staff were friendly and ready to help. We can’t wait to come back.

We had a relaxing time at this beautiful resort and would recommend Privilege Aluxes. The staff were especially friendly and gave top notch service. There’s a large heated pool with plenty of loungers, and the food was good, though it wasn’t served very hot at Sabor or Playa. We also missed having buffet style dinner service. Our room looked over the pool, with beautiful blue water visible in the distance. The downside was the loud bass from a nearby bar, which carried on until early morning and made it hard to relax or sleep. The king bed could use an upgrade, but the pillows were great. There’s a lot to see around the island, so rent a golf cart and take a tour. You won’t regret it.

The staff are what keep bringing us back to PA. This was our 11th stay, and every person we met was smiling and eager to help. Eduardo, the pool bartender, worked hard all day and still had a smile. Ricardo brought whatever we requested to our room and seemed genuinely happy to do it. It was always a joy to see him. Michel, the Concierge, was glad to help with anything we needed, and Dani, our regular beach waiter, was fantastic. For the first time, we rented a golf cart through the hotel, which was much easier than trying to find one around the island. The beach is beautiful, the rooms are perfect, and the island food is fantastic. Already looking forward to stay number 12!
