The restaurant menu is limited, and I’m not sure about how the food is prepared. I found a long hair in my sandwich, and the coffee tasted as if the water came from the pool. The entrance renovation looks nice, but the pool area and public spaces feel odd and sketchy. There’s a foul-smelling pool of wastewater beside the kids’ pool, a decrepit boat, and pool chairs scattered around as if they had minds of their own. Under the kids’ boat, an open door leads to equipment and paint that look dangerous. Go in if you dare. The place also feels like a Gothic novel: an old, crumbling building that could use more caretakers, a blinking hallway light, passages that go nowhere, and a poolside sink that won’t drain. After sleeping in the beds, I got little itchy bumps on my ankles, and there are strands of dark black hair hanging from the top of a stairwell. I can’t shake the sense that the place is either haunted by ghosts or poorly managed. Stay here if you need material for a horror film.

Breakfast and the buffet deserve five stars. Marcos, our waiter, was attentive and took great care of us. He also volunteered information about the hotel’s other services and benefits. The food service staff made fresh omelettes and were great to talk with, telling us about the day’s ingredients. The drinks at the bar the night before were a struggle, though. Their flavor or mix wasn’t what we expected for the mixed drinks we ordered, so I took a star off for service. I also deducted a star for a few room issues: the sheets looked clean but had a couple of stains, the shower sprayed water over the ceiling and glass enclosure and left the floor wet, and the coffee maker didn’t work. We told the staff, and they fixed those things right away. We plan to stay again.

My kids loved the slides in the kids’ pool and are already asking when we can come back. The facilities are absolutely five star, and the staff pay attention to every detail. During our four days, Edith Torres gave us a lovely welcome at reception, Marco Dominguez looked after us so well in the restaurant, and Gabriela was a thoughtful and helpful housekeeper. Omar and the rest of the restaurant crew were attentive at dinner and made every meal a great experience. The food was wonderful. I also went to two Zumba lessons. The teacher was lovely, and I left both lessons feeling happy and full of energy. The pool bar staff were fun and pleasant and helped us have a great time.

We’re already looking forward to coming back. The breakfast was delicious, and Marco Dominguez and Fernando gave us outstanding service. The rooms were big, comfortable, and clean. There’s lots for kids to enjoy, from the pools and indoor pool to the go-karts and playground. A great place for every age, grandmas included.

The whole family enjoyed the activities, especially the kids. We were celebrating a birthday, and the hotel team went above and beyond with fantastic entertainment to make it special. Their attention to detail and dedication made the whole stay memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate and relax.
