Rafting is the big draw here, on what is the best river in Mexico for rafting at this time of year. The place itself is simple but fine for a weekend, with good service and plenty of local food. Drinks aren't expensive, though the servings are quite small. Be ready to wait, since they don't stick to the activity times they give you. They also charge for rafting photos and won't show them first, so you can't decide whether they're worth buying.

The rafting on the white water was absolutely awesome, and the river's beauty really comes through. The food was fantastic too, both in flavor and quality. But the guides seemed sour and just there to do a job, with little enthusiasm for making the adventure enjoyable. Plans were unreliable throughout the stay, from activities to meals. Times kept changing or were ignored, which made it frustrating not knowing what would happen and disrupted the trip. Rest was another problem. On weekends, loud music events in the nearby town ran into the early morning, with drunken singing and “banda” music until 5 AM. I couldn't sleep, and it took away from the experience. Between the guide attitude, schedule problems, and noise, the stay was inconsistent and less enjoyable despite the rafting and food.

The cabana was cosy, though the mattress could've been better, and we really enjoyed the Temazcal with Paulino, the massages, and ending the evening with herbal tea. The 90m rappel was impressive, and rafting the Pescados with Rio Aventura was a really good experience. Special thanks to our guide Pepe. Dinner and breakfast were amazing, really, really good. The one downside was dogs barking at night.

The river tour lasts around two hours, with another hour spent getting to the starting place. Great service, professional guides, and an amazing experience. Totally recommend it.
