The food from the menu was genuinely delicious, and the dining room has air conditioning. They also provide a small breakfast for free. The room itself felt pretty tired for the price, with old furniture, a tiny TV and a mattress that seemed very worn. The bathroom was the bigger issue: its low window has clear glass and looks onto the dining area, so someone there could see right in.

The hotel is quiet, reasonably priced for what it offers, and has the basic services. I liked it at first. But after checkout, the door code that was meant to expire on the final day stopped me from getting back in, and I was left outside overnight and had to find somewhere else to stay. I tried calling and messaging the woman who had helped me, and also called the number listed on Google. Neither answered. I rang the bell too, but nobody came. It seems there isn't anyone available to help when something goes wrong.

The coffee shop was another letdown. The coffee tasted bad, the cup wasn't clean, and the cheese on my tlayuda tasted rotten. I tried the so-called continental breakfast once, just a little watermelon that looked like buffet leftovers and a small roll, and didn't order it again. Getting into the hotel was a problem too. The gate code I was given didn't work, and the person who gave it to me wouldn't answer calls. At 5:00 a.m. I got inside only because other guests arrived. They later gave me a second code, and that one was wrong as well. It felt like they might be deliberately keeping people out. I had booked Hotel Casa Teresa a month ahead, but even arriving after 3:00 p.m. didn't mean the room was ready. There's no reception or sign, despite it being advertised as a hotel. A girl in a nearby office handed me the key and checked the room. The sheets were dirty, with hair and dust. This is the second time the same thing has happened to me here, so it seems they don't change them between guests. The bathroom was wet and poorly cleaned, with dirty shower screens, no hand soap, a visibly dirty door, and a filthy bath mat. Dust covered the furniture, bedside tables, lamps and table. There was also a dirty hammock hanging in the way, so I took it down. Service and hygiene were awful, and they showed no care for guest comfort. It felt like making money was all that mattered. I hope they train the staff and make at least the basic effort you'd expect from somewhere calling itself a hotel. A really unpleasant stay.

The location is probably the only real plus, and even that doesn't make the price make sense. I found Hotel Nochi in Espinal for 1,000 pesos, with newer facilities and an elevator, and Hotel Central was cheaper and better in a lot of ways. This place has a good concept, but it's been badly neglected. The room was dirty and had no real aesthetic appeal. It smelled strongly damp when we arrived. The window area looked awful, with bits of cement stuck to the wall and water dripping from it. When I asked the man checking us in to cover it, he seemed annoyed. I also asked for a luggage rack and was told to use the work desk, which seemed odd since people travel and work. The bathroom could be better. The walls were dirty, some of the finishes were poor, and the gap between the toilet and shower enclosure was so tight it would be uncomfortable for a tall person. There was bath soap but no hand soap. The storage cabinets were dusty, there were cobwebs underneath, and the hooks were rusty. I also thought it was incredibly rude that they replied to someone on Google who shared an honest opinion by calling her a migrant to insult her. After seeing how they treat people, I wouldn't consider staying again, even though I might have otherwise. Their attitude and that awful comment are disgraceful.
