The place was filthy and looked like La Llorona's house. Everything felt old and ugly, and there were no blankets. Nobody came to help guests at night. The bathroom was dark like a dungeon and clogged. I’d rather sleep on the benches at the bus station.

Hostal La Cruz Verde warns about scammers who check in, then invent excuses and lies in an attempt to get their lodging money back. They advise caution and reserve the right to refuse admission.

The owners are doing their best and the service is good. Still, it’s an old building that seems to have been converted into a hostel, and it doesn’t have the consistent look you’d expect from a place like this.

For a low price, this is an excellent place to unwind peacefully. Just don’t expect a five-star hotel.

It was badly neglected, with mosquitoes everywhere, dirty beds, and nails sticking out in lots of places.
